Ethical Parasite Marketing

In this month’s issue of DotComSecrets, Russel Brunson President of DotComSecrets
skill-fully explains how you can become an Ethical Traffic Parasite
and how you can use the concept of Parasite Marketing to drive targeted traffic to your website or blog.
The First Thing You Should Know There is nothing wrong with being a Traffic Parasite even though
the name indicates otherwise.

It is in fact a very easy and clever way of marketing. Especially if you don’t generate much traffic by yourself.

So what is Parasite Marketing? Parasite Marketing is done by you attaching yourself to an already existing
traffic source that is similar to your own, website, product or theme.

Just like a Parasite that attaches itself to an animal.

Some Juicy Rewarding Tactics Used By Traffic Parasite Marketers Revealed

Some of the favorite methods of leeching traffic for the Traffic Parasite is

Blog Post Leeching

Commenting on Live TV Shows

becoming a Testimonial or Caste Study

to name the most commonly used leeching tactics.

#1 Blog Post Leeching

This tactic is easy to understand, easy to use but timing was hard for the first Traffic Parasites.

The idea is for the Parasite to be the first to comment on very popular blog posts on blogs in the same industry
or theme of your own website, blog or product.

After a new post is posted on the very popular blog a lot of people will read it. When you are the first to
comment on the blog post a large portion of the readers that found that blog post interesting is very likely to
read your comment as well.

You can get massive exposure this way, Russel Brunson experience doing this is that making comments
this way can get you 200 to 300 new subscribers or more every time you post.

So this is definitely something that is worth doing right. Before posting though make sure you read how to
make a good comment so your post isn’t deleted.

Read about how to make a good comment later in this article.

Blog Post Leeching – The Difficulty and The solution One of the problems the first Parasite Marketers
experienced was the difficulty in being the first person to comment on any new hot blog post simply because
they didn’t know when that post was made.

Since sitting and manually refresging the popular blog wasn’t very effective the challenge was simply to be
notified when a blog post was made.

Sure now days we have RSS with all the bells and whistles but that also requires you to be behind your
computer manually looking at it to see if it had updates.

Luckily there is a solution to this problem and the best part is that it is free.

http://www.CommentSniper.com is a program that assists you in notifying you whenever a post is made on
any of the leading blogs in your niche. This allows you to run to the blog and post your comment.

Find out how to post a great comment later in this article.

#2 Commenting on Live TV Shows

A new trend in Online Marketing is to hold a live TV Show. In short the person broadcasting the TV Show
does so by allowing his web camera to be publicly broadcasted by a service provider.

Two commonly used services for this is http://www.ustream.tv and http://www.justin.tv

The Parasite Marketer joins a highly popular TV Show relating to his or her own niche. The Parasite Marketer
joins and uses his or her own website or blog url as the nickname in the TV Show chat window.

During the course of the show the Parasite Marketer writes high quality, high use value comments related to what
the show host is currently talking about.

The effect is that the other viewers of the show are likely to see you, the Parasite Marketer as an authority figure in
your niche and visit your site.

Learn more about how to become an Authority Figure or Expert here

#3 Become a Testimonial or Case Study

The third method the Parasite Marketer uses to ethically steel traffic is by becoming a Testimonial or Case Study.

This exposes you either on a sales page or other highly Exposed page, this will showcase you as an Authority Figure
or a successful person.

The tricky part here is to figure out how you can become one.

Connecting with people that creates and launches products related to your niche is probably your best bet.

The same goes for becoming a Case Study.

The end result in both cases is the same. More traffic finds it’s way to your website or blog.

What to think about when you write Comments on Blogs or Live TV Shows

The most important thing to remember is that your Comment should support the Author or TV Show Host since
writing bad comments can get your comment deleted or you being kicked out of the TV Show chat.

Some other guidelines are

The Comment should add to the comment or topic of discussion.

Be of High Quality packed with High Use value

If you don’t agree don’t post

By making your information useful for others that read the blog post or watches the TV
Show you apear as an Authority or Expert Figure.

I Highly recommend you to learn more about how You Yourself can be seen as an Authority or
Expert figure by Signing up for Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring course, you will learn more

Introduction.

How good are you with computers?

Does the running cost fit in your budget?

What features and functions do you need?

Limited or unlimited amount of autoresponders?

Can you import leads?

Conclusion – Time to take a decision.

01. Introduction

Hi and welcome back to your training. By now you know what an autoresponder is, how
you can use it, what the purpuse is of having one and you might even know how you can
implement it into your own marketing efforts and possibly even have several good ideas
already.

I have done my best to stop you from buying an autoresponder because I don’t want you
to end up with one that is not right for you since there are several different autoresponder
service providers out there on the market today. They all are in different price groups, all
require different amount of computer know how.

I have seen Autoresponders that are free and doesn’t cost you anything but they do
include commercials & Advertising in your Newsletter e-mails and I have seen price tags up
to over 200usd a month.

So yes it can be a jungle out there and that is exactly why I wanted you not to buy one until
after you finished with this training.

02. How good are you with computers?

I did not write that to insult your intelligence and regardless if you know your way
around the computer or not the different autoresponder services out there differs in how easy
they are to use.

If you are not that good with computers or technology obviously rushing out and buying
the first best autoresponder you come across isn’t a good idea because you might find
yourself having paid for an autoresponder that you cannot use because it is to advanced.

Even if you are very good with computers you might want to find an easy to use
autoresponder simply for convienense sake as well as saving time. So defining if you are
looking for a very easy to use autoresponder or one with full customization options will play
a very important part of your decision in regards to what autoresponder you should get.

The next thing you need to consider as well is how big of a budget you have? Can you
afford the expense that an Autoresponder will add to your monthly costs? Depending on
what autoresponder you get the price will be different.

By writing down the maximum cost per month that an autoresponder can cost for you
will help you to grow your online business inside of your monthly budget. It will also help you
narrow down the amount of autoresponder services that you can buy since there is quite a lot
of them out there.

04. What features and functions do you need?

It might be hard to know what features and function you will need that fits your business
if you have never worked with an autoresponder before. However it could be easier to first
start and think on how you want to use your autoresponder.

Do you want to focus on training people?

Do you want to use it to submit weekly updates?

Do you want to invite people to your online seminar calls?

Do you need to do newsletters in html or will doing it in plain text be enough?

What about tracking options?

Do you just want to send a message out to the entire list or do you want to build up a
series of e-mails that everyone that subscribes to your list gets thereby giving them important
information over time?

Those are all important questions. For me the following functions were important to me
when I got my first autoresponder:

It need to be able to do both a e-mail broadcast and also have the ability to
build up a series of educational e-mails where I can include html code if I need to.

Cost less then 30usd a month.

Be very easy to use (even though I am quite good at computer related things
I have grown very tired of complex program that takes a lot of time to learn.

Allow me to create unlimited numbers of autoresponders.

Have excellent customer service.

Do regulary maintenence and updating.

Have an Affiliate program tied to it so others can buy their autoresponder
through me and I can help them getting it started and up and running.

Have Excellent tracking capabilities so I can learn what works and what
doesn’t work and see the amount of people clicking on links I provide.

Be able to send test messages so I can work creativly and test and
not risk sending things that doesn’t look right out to my list.

Have pre-formated html templates if I choose to go into html
news letters in the future.

Those were just some of the things that was important to me. If you do not know what
function is important for you feel free to use my list above because that will support your
business as it grows.

05. limited or unlimited amount of autoresponders?

You also need to take into consideration if the Autoresponder service provider lets you
create an unlimited number of autoresonders in your monthly subscription or not.

The advantage to have an unlimited amount of autoresponders means that you can
create several autoresponders depending on what product you want to promote, what your
target market is, if you want to do e-mails in another language for your target market and
things like that.

Having just 1 autoresponder and needing to pay more to get more could prove to be very
limiting and expensive but if you just need 1 autoresponder then that might be something that
you want to take into consideration before deciding on what autoresponder to get.

06. Can you import & Export leads?

If you already have a list with a service provider and you are looking to get a new one
then this questions is going to be very important for you. Having the ability to import leads is
essential, especially if you have a big list.

Just imagine having to manually move a list of over 10 000people to a new service
provider. Especially if you have a lot of informational fields like telephone number, adress
and so on.

Equally important is having the ability to export your list for backup purposes or if you
want to change service providers in the future.

You also want to be able to add leads manually because you might meet someone that
wants to subscribe in a offline enviroment and he or she gives you their e-mail address to add
manually.

07. Conclusion.

If you have taken the time to write down what I Suggest above on a piece of paper then
you now have a very important piece of information that will allow you to make a much more
informed decision in regards to what autoresponder service you will get.

I have also covered several functions that was important to me before I got my
autoresponder and remember You and Your autoresponder will be working together for a
long time.

Taking the time out now to find one that fits your needs and is easy for you to use, it might
very well save you a lot of frustrations in the future.

You might be wondering what autoresponder I recommend?

I will get into that in the next training step and in the end the decision in regards to what
autoresponder you are going to get finally lies with you. Make sure you take the time and
read my recommendation in the next training step and you will have enough information in
order to make a good decision of what service provider you want to use.

Introduction

What if you had a Newsletter Marketing campaign set up?

What happens next

Newsletter profit example

Special promotion days

1. Introduction

You have a Offline Flower Store and a customer comes into your
store and buys some nice roses.

You take care of the customer, wrap the flowers, recieve the payment from the customer
and the customer leaves after getting his or her flowers. Now you have a 50-50 shot at
seeing that customer again. And that is provided you gave excellent service, behaved
as a professional and have a nice store to shop in.

You don’t have a way of contacting the customer with special promotions etc and it’s
really up to the customer if they want to visit you again or not.

More Importantly you don’t have a way of over delivering use value to your customer,
you don’t have a way of continuing the relationship and trust building process with your
customer that will get him or her to come back and buy from you again and again.

2. What if you had a Newsletter Marketing
campaign set up?

The same customer comes into your flower store and buys the same flowers. However
this time your working smart and while you package the flowers and accept payment you
ask the customer if they would like to recieve 10 Free Expert Tips on how to make the roses
stay fresh and last longer as well as get a 25% discount coupon for the next purchace and be
notified when the shop runs special “on sale” campaigns by allowing you to add them to your
flower shop newsletter.

The customer is likely to answer yes and you ask the customer to write down their First
name or full name and their e-mail adress on your before hand prepared list. Before the
customer leaves you check the list to see that you can read what he or she wrote and if not
you simply ask what it says.

As the customer leaves the store you manually add the customers information into your
newsletter service.

3. What Happends Next?

The newsletter you had created before talking with the customer now automatically
sends out the 10 free expert tips e-mail including a 25% discount coupon code that the
customer can print out or write down on a piece of paper and bring to the store next time.

You now have a way of getting in touch with the customer.

Knowing that over delivering value to the customer greatly increases the odds of the
customer coming back to the store again you have also set up a series of e-mails that
educates the customer on flower related topics such as, how much light and water
does a perticular flower sort need?

Romantic tips for using roses and other such flowers. Special seasonal flowers and dates
to just name a few possible topics for follow up over delivering relationship and trust building
newsletter.

Over time some customer will say no and some customer will say yes so you have
gradually built up a large customer list that recieves your e-mail newsletter. A couple a
months have past and Valentines Day is coming up.

4. Newsletter Marketing Profit Example

How many customers would come back and buy roses from you if you sent out a special
valentines day offer of getting a 25% discount when they buy 3 or more roses?

How much did it cost you to send out this add? Nothing! Save the cost minimal cost of
the newsletter service. How much sale will it generate for you? Talk about a High Return
of Investment by working smartly and applying some Newsletter Marketing to your business.

What if you know that your special Valentines Days offer generates 25% sales?

If you have.

100 customers on your list = 100 * 0,25 = 25 Sales
500 customers on your list = 500 * 0,25 = 125 Sales
1000 customers on your list = 1000 * 0,25 = 250 Sales

I am not saying that you will get 25% response to your special valentines campaign.
However it is very much a possability.

How many customers do you get a year? a month? Take that total amount and multiply
with 0,01 the result you get would be the amount of customer signing up on your newsletter if
you count very low counting with only a 1% positive response of your question to get them
on your newsletter.

Think you can do better then 1%? You sure can!

5. Special Promotion days

More special promotions days:

Birtdays
Christmas
New Years
Your Own Birthday
etc

I hope this has been an eye opener for you. I see so many offline shops that don’t use
Newsletter Marketing at all. Everytime I buy something myself or see another person buying
something without the cashier asking if they would like to get on a newsletter to get some
form of incentive I just see a large portion of money walking right out of the store.

Ask yourself if you are doing everything humanly possible to over deliver great use value
to your customer that builds relantionship and trust in him or her and having a way of
contacting them?

If the answer to that question is no then Newsletter Marketing is definitely something you
want to invest in. Your business will benefit greatly if you do.

1. Introduction

Newsletter Marketing also known as Autoresponder Marketing or Email Marketing
is the backbone of building a Stable and Long Lasting Succesfull Online Business. The
simply reasony of why that fact is a reality is because you can leverage technology to
automate A LOT of the relationship building efforts with your potential new customers
and existing customers in a very cost efficient manner.

Newsletter Marketing has a wide variety of usage and I normally say that you are only
limited by your imagination of what you can do with a electronic newsletter.

2. What is a Newsletter

So just what is a Newsletter?

There are two distinct categories of Newsletters. Offline Newsletters and Online
Newsletters. Normally Offline Newsletters take the shape and form of small magazines.
They may be free or paid ones that get shipped to your home.

Online Newsletters are basicly E-mails that gets emailed to you or to people that for
one reason or another chosen to sign up to recieve the Newsletter.

An Online Newsletter consists off a series of Newsletters, either simple Text Only
e-mails or html e-mails. These e-mails are set up either in Sequences or are sent out as a
one time broadcast.

This training course focuses on educating you
on the topic of Online Newsletter Marketing.

3. What Is A Follow Up Message

When you set up a sequence of E-mail Newsletters these messages are called
Follow Up messages. The significance is that you can create a series of Follow Up messages
on a topic of your choosing and can take complex topics and divide them into smaller
pieces so you can start off by sharing something basic and over the course of a few or
several Follow Up messages you can take the Online Newsletter subscriber from basic
information to more advanced information.

You can do this due to setting up Follow Up messages in order so there is a Red Thread
throughout all of them.

The best part is that these Follow Up messages get delivered automatically without you
manually sending them out once you have created them and set the intervall of how often
they should be sent out. This is done by the software or service that you create and
store your Newsletter in called an Autoresponder. More about what that is later on.

Some excellent ways of using the Follow Up function is to create how-to
guides, educational or informational type of messages that isn’t time sensitive.

You do the work once and you benefit from it forever or as long as you have those
Follup Messages active.

4. What is A Broadcast Message

A Broadcast Message is a message that you send out to the people that subscribe to
your newsletter just once. This is useful if you have a time sensitive promotional campaign.
This way people that joins your newsletter after the campaign has passed won’t get
the information since the information is just sent out once.

This is perticulary usefel for Promotional Campaigns, Events, VIP Customer Evenings
etc.

Think of it as sending out a regular mail that goes out to all of your subscribers by the
pust of a button.

Time Efficient and easy to use.

5. What Is An Autoresponder?

An Autoresponder is the program or service that Creates The Newsletter, Manages
the Subscriber List, contains your Follup Up and Broadcast messages normally also
include a lot of very useful tracking and statistics options.

The Autoresponder also creates the Web Form that the subscribers will use to
add themselves to your Online Newsletter. The neat thing here is that the Autoresponder
generates the code needed to put the web form on your website!

Normally you can also add subscribers manually into your Newsletter Subscriber list through
manual insertion in the Autoresponder.

And finally most Autoresponders support the creation of multiple Newsletters allowing
you to create one list for Potentially New Customers and One For Your Customer and you
can also create Product Specific Newsletters giving you excellent opportunity to over deliver
on use value and really build up the relationship and trust in the Potential Customer or
Customer thereby increasing the chances of getting them back to your Website or Store.

5. Examples of usage

Email Marketing can be used. I highly recommend that you go and read the one that best
suits your needs or your business.

I am very lucky to be able to end my series of blog posts about Aweber (for this time)
with an Exclusive Interview that you won’t find anywhere else then here at http://www.tobias-fransson.com

I managed to get a hold of Ron Givens, Affiliate Manager at Aweber
and really put him on the hot chair with questions that I know you would like an answer to.

Without any further ado *enter drum roll* here is the interview

Q: How can a blogger get repeat blog traffic by using an Autoresponder Service such as Aweber?

A: AWeber is a very “blog friendly” service and we have tools within customer accounts that enable users to:

1. Send their blog posts to their newsletter subscribers via our blog broadcast feature.

2. Allow their blog subscribers to sign up for their newsletter list by inserting a web form into their blog.

3. Enable their blog subscribers to see how many newsletter subscribers they have via a subscriber count chicklet.

All of these features combined enable AWeber users to get repeat blog traffic
as well as develop a relationship with those blog readers and subscribers.

Q: How many customers and affiliates does AWeber have?

A: We are approaching 50,000 customers and have over 70,000 affiliates and
still growing steadily even in our turbulent economy.

Q: How much does the average AWeber Affiliate earn month?

A: It really depends on their level of commitment, and actual number would not be accurate here

Q: How does AWeber get repeat blog traffic?

A: Here at AWeber, we practice what we preach. We use all of the methods mentioned
above in order to get repeat blog traffic as well as converting those readers to newsletter
subscribers and eventually customers and affiliates themselves.

Q: How can a blogger make more money by becoming an AWeber Affiliate?

A: An active blogger can make more money by becoming an AWeber affiliate by using his
blog as a vehicle for his AWeber affiliate promotions. By talking about their personal
experiences using AWeber, the blogger then breathes life into to the AWeber experience.

That way, their readers can relate to the bloggers experience and want that for themselves.

Q: How can a blogger promote AWeber in their blog?

A: AWeber provides all of the tools needed to promote our service. We provide banners as well
as resources that allow our affiliates to test different promotional methods to find the one that works best for them.

Q: In what additional ways can a blogger use AWeber Autoresponder Services to make even more money?

A: A Feature that really stands out is our new Twitter integration, which in my opinion is phenomenal.
The integration enables you to use AWeber to convert from RSS to email to Twitter automatically.
It really is an amazing new feature which has been received with great enthusiasm.

http://www.aweber.com/blog/new-features/twitter-blog-newsletters.htm

Q: How Does Aweber support their affiliates?

A: Aweber affiliates get training materials, access to affiliate blog posts and newsletters as well as
support directly from myself, the affiliate manager. When an affiliate has a question they are sure
to get support directly from me and not an automated response.

Q: How can AWeber Affiliates make more sales?

A: An addition to the resources that AWeber offers their affiliates, a good affiliate will always keep in mind that:

1. The industry is in a constant state of change, so affiliates must always stay on top of industry trends and changes.
There is a lot of information out there, and a good affiliate is always learning something new – the eternal student.
They can then apply that information to make good, solid sales.

2. Success is not going to happen over night. As with any business, there is a learning curve and it takes time to
find the right formula that works for your specific niche and how you are marketing your business.
Those who persevere will succeed, so a good affiliate must be patient and focused.

Sales come over a period of time, not in a day.

Q: In what ways can bloggers integrate AWeber with their blogs?

A: By using these great features that AWeber provides:

1. Blog Broadcast Function: http://www.aweber.com/faq/questions/129/What+are+Blog+Broadcasts%3F

2. Subscriber count chicklet: http://www.aweber.com/blog/new-features/subscriber-count-chicklet.htm

3. Twitter integration: http://www.aweber.com/blog/new-features/twitter-email-newsletters.htm

Q: Can you give your best tips to AWeber Affiliates that could sky rocket their sales?

A: Just to reiterate, its all about patience as well as educating yourself. There are a lot of offers out there for
formulas that will catch lightning in a bottle and boost you to super affiliate stardom in no time flat.
Any experienced affiliate will tell you that it takes time, patience and education.

Educate yourself first, then go from there. We offer a great educational blog for our customers and affiliates as well.
also, our education marketing team is the best in the business. http://www.aweber.com/about.htm http://www.aweber.com/blog/

Q: How long have you been working at AWeber autoresponder service?

A: I started on the solutions team almost two years ago. I was hired by Sean Cohen, our Director of Operations.

Q: How long have you been the Affiliate Manager for Aweber?

A: It’s been several months now. I am very pleased to be able to work directly with our affiliates because
they appreciate the AWeber autoresponder product and have a great deal of enthusiasm for promoting our service.
Like you, Tobias. That enthusiasm carries over to me and makes my job an adventure every day.

Q: What are the most common questions AWeber Affiliates ask, and what are the answers to those questions?

A: Aside from questions like, “Where is my affiliate URL?”, which is basically located at the top of the affiliate control panel,
the big one would be, “How do I drive traffic to my website and get more sales?” The answer is basically in driving solid
and targeted traffic to your site using proven methods such as PPC, a solid SEO model, blogging etc.. And the best way
to accomplish this is to to spend time educating yourself by tapping the wealth of knowledge that is available out there.

Q: What would you like to say to any Affiliate that reads this interview?

A: Don’t be intimidated and keep moving forward. No matter what you do, there is always going to be something to learn,
and someone to learn from. That is what makes life such a miraculous adventure. If you truly want to learn and you also
keep your expectations realistic, no one can stop you.
