01. Introduction

Hi and welcome back to your training. By now you know what an autoresponder is, how
you can use it, what the purpuse is of having one and you might even know how you can
implement it into your own marketing efforts and possibly even have several good ideas
already.

I have done my best to stop you from buying an autoresponder because I don’t want you
to end up with one that is not right for you since there are several different autoresponder
service providers out there on the market today. They all are in different price groups, all
require different amount of computer know how.

I have seen Autoresponders that are free and doesn’t cost you anything but they do
include commercials & Advertising in your Newsletter e-mails and I have seen price tags up
to over 200usd a month.

So yes it can be a jungle out there and that is exactly why I wanted you not to buy one until
after you finished with this training.

02. How good are you with computers?

I did not write that to insult your intelligence and regardless if you know your way
around the computer or not the different autoresponder services out there differs in how easy
they are to use.

If you are not that good with computers or technology obviously rushing out and buying
the first best autoresponder you come across isn’t a good idea because you might find
yourself having paid for an autoresponder that you cannot use because it is to advanced.

Even if you are very good with computers you might want to find an easy to use
autoresponder simply for convienense sake as well as saving time. So defining if you are
looking for a very easy to use autoresponder or one with full customization options will play
a very important part of your decision in regards to what autoresponder you should get.

The next thing you need to consider as well is how big of a budget you have? Can you
afford the expense that an Autoresponder will add to your monthly costs? Depending on
what autoresponder you get the price will be different.

By writing down the maximum cost per month that an autoresponder can cost for you
will help you to grow your online business inside of your monthly budget. It will also help you
narrow down the amount of autoresponder services that you can buy since there is quite a lot
of them out there.

04. What features and functions do you need?

It might be hard to know what features and function you will need that fits your business
if you have never worked with an autoresponder before. However it could be easier to first
start and think on how you want to use your autoresponder.

  • Do you want to focus on training people?
  • Do you want to use it to submit weekly updates?
  • Do you want to invite people to your online seminar calls?
  • Do you need to do newsletters in html or will doing it in plain text be enough?

What about tracking options?

Do you just want to send a message out to the entire list or do you want to build up a
series of e-mails that everyone that subscribes to your list gets thereby giving them important
information over time?

Those are all important questions. For me the following functions were important to me
when I got my first autoresponder:

  • It need to be able to do both a e-mail broadcast and also have the ability to
build up a series of educational e-mails where I can include html code if I need to.
  • Cost less then 30usd a month.
  • Be very easy to use (even though I am quite good at computer related things
I have grown very tired of complex program that takes a lot of time to learn.
  • Allow me to create unlimited numbers of autoresponders.
  • Have excellent customer service.
  • Do regulary maintenence and updating.
  • Have an Affiliate program tied to it so others can buy their autoresponder
through me and I can help them getting it started and up and running.
  • Have Excellent tracking capabilities so I can learn what works and what
doesn’t work and see the amount of people clicking on links I provide.
  • Be able to send test messages so I can work creativly and test and
not risk sending things that doesn’t look right out to my list.
  • Have pre-formated html templates if I choose to go into html
    news letters in the future.

Those were just some of the things that was important to me. If you do not know what
function is important for you feel free to use my list above because that will support your
business as it grows.

05. limited or unlimited amount of autoresponders?

You also need to take into consideration if the Autoresponder service provider lets you
create an unlimited number of autoresonders in your monthly subscription or not.

The advantage to have an unlimited amount of autoresponders means that you can
create several autoresponders depending on what product you want to promote, what your
target market is, if you want to do e-mails in another language for your target market and
things like that.

Having just 1 autoresponder and needing to pay more to get more could prove to be very
limiting and expensive but if you just need 1 autoresponder then that might be something that
you want to take into consideration before deciding on what autoresponder to get.

06. Can you import & Export leads?

If you already have a list with a service provider and you are looking to get a new one
then this questions is going to be very important for you. Having the ability to import leads is
essential, especially if you have a big list.

Just imagine having to manually move a list of over 10 000people to a new service
provider. Especially if you have a lot of informational fields like telephone number, adress
and so on.

Equally important is having the ability to export your list for backup purposes or if you
want to change service providers in the future.

You also want to be able to add leads manually because you might meet someone that
wants to subscribe in a offline enviroment and he or she gives you their e-mail address to add
manually.

07. Conclusion.

If you have taken the time to write down what I Suggest above on a piece of paper then
you now have a very important piece of information that will allow you to make a much more
informed decision in regards to what autoresponder service you will get.

I have also covered several functions that was important to me before I got my
autoresponder and remember You and Your autoresponder will be working together for a
long time.

Taking the time out now to find one that fits your needs and is easy for you to use, it might
very well save you a lot of frustrations in the future.

You might be wondering what autoresponder I recommend?

I will get into that in the next training step and in the end the decision in regards to what
autoresponder you are going to get finally lies with you. Make sure you take the time and
read my recommendation in the next training step and you will have enough information in
order to make a good decision of what service provider you want to use.
